Who Says Using GNU/ Linux is difficult?

This is amazing, atleast for me, my three and a half years old (now almost four in about four months), can use GNU/ Linux fairly well (for a kid of his age and fairly well than many older windoz guyz I have seen around). This is what he can do after about ten minutes of coaching.

  1. Powers on the monitor, powers on the Desktop.
  2. Waits for GNU/ Linux to load.
  3. On GDM Login screen enters his username, sometimes selects his username from the user list displayed by GDM (I have set his password to blank for his convenience).
  4. Waits for KDE to load.
  5. Starts kolourpaint from a shortcut on the task bar and keep playing with it. He has become fairly conversant with various tools available in kolourpaint. Of course he is no picasso but he can use brush, fill, pencil, eraser, rectangle tool, colour chooser etc and that in just two days.
  6. He can shutdown the Desktop (from the K menu) on his own too.

Oh and the best thing is he has started experimenting/ hacking around with the other K menu items too. Maybe he will learn with time what are the various other tools available, and how much more fun he can have in GNU/ Linux from the bash console.

Maybe he has been watching me doing all this, but hey still GNU/ Linux is easy to use.
