The Inside Story of New Dilbert.com or How Richard M Stallmann & Linus Torwalds Bribed Scott into Promoting GNU/ Linux

1st April 2008, Our Correspondent
Finally we have the inside story on why the dilbert.com has been given an all new Flashy look. We have learnt from reliable sources that Richard Stallman of Free Software Foundation fame and Linus Torwalds of GNU/ Linux fame have sent kickbacks to Scott Adamas and have also sponsored some heavy weight flash widgets for the new dilbert.com site to make the main website unpopular.

Daddy Says Puttar No XSS

These days I am having too much fun with XSS. It is no good wishing happy holi by manipulating other peoples websites, even though it is harmless. You never know when you will come across some crazy hippocrat who believes that its website has been defaced and then tries to grab the poor fun loving XSSer by neck.

Note to Self
Keep out of trouble and stop XSSing even if the other guy does not fix the website. Hey did I mention it is possible to move Lambi Assembly Constituency in Punjab to Haryana, now don't ask me how. A number of other funny permutations are also possible. Guess what am I talking about, or wait till these people say something...

Why cant there be a Secure and Perfect Version of MS Windows ever?

The title for this post can be considered a misnomer. I think it should read:

Why cant any commerical software be made perfect?

Well if you do write perfect software you are kicking yourself in your er.. belly, and sitting on the branch side of the saw.

For any commercial company/ enterprise writing perfect and bug free software would mean:

Happy and smiling Customers (hmm... that is a good)

Satisfied customers (this is also good)
Computer Virus Outbreak Means Holiday

Recently a friend of mine told me the story of his boss. In the recent overhyped outbreak of the Kamasutra virus (as seen on morning tv news by the boss), he made the computer admins to shut down the complete computer infrastructure.

Then somebody told him the virus strikes on 3rd of every month, hey good news guys, it is an official holiday on 3rd of every month.

PS: Why didnt they told him the virus strikes every second day.

PS to PS: Its been around three years since I have seen any virus related problems on the computers I use, thanks to GNU/ Linux the best antivirus on earth.

Five reasons NOT to use GNU/ Linux or Why GNU/ Linux is better than Windows

Here are some reasons why not to use Linux and why to use Windows. A must read for a die hard Windows fan, read here. Also read here.
Interesting.

Find some more reasons to prefer windows over linux here.

25/11/2005
And here is something funny, well, GNU/ Linux is now much friendly for a dummy, see the os for the regular guys, but well first see the Pun on Linux.

And here we have a sneak preview of next version of Microsoft Windows (tm), worth a look.

Sardar Jokes

Sometimes i do wish i should do a search and replace for the sardar word with: pundit, baniya, mullah etc etc and forward the mail.
Too many sardar jokes and its not too funny.','Here is a very little true story that i have to share with you ppl, though not funny:

I was studying in ACTS-CDAC-Hyderabad. The time was around holi in 2001. A fellow student of mine used to act funny. He knew just too many sardar jokes, he knew there is something called

sardaran ke baran wajde hain

And he enjoyed narrating this to me. When he started crossing limits i had explain him why sardaran de baran wajde ne. I told him how sardars used to get out at midnight and rescue his great great great grand mothers from some tyrant Mougle emperors and Afghani decoits. (Was i rude to him? Sorry M!!)

Inventor of Ctrl-Alt-Delete # Bradely of IBM retires

The man who spent five minutes writing the computer code that would bail out the world's PC users for decades is retiring this Friday.
David Bradley programmed one of the most well-known key combinations around: Ctrl-Alt-Delete. It forces obstinate computers to restart when they no longer follow other commands.
Bradley, 55, is leaving IBM Corp. after 28 1/2 years. By 1980, Bradley was one of 12 people working to create the IBM PC. The engineers knew they had to design a simple way to restart the computer should it fail. Bradley wrote the code to make it work.
I didn't know it was going to be a cultural icon, Bradley said. "I did a lot of other things than Ctrl-Alt-Delete, but I'm famous for that one." His fame depends on the failures of others.

2004 AD, the 34th year of the time_t era

A very happy new year and greetings for the year 2004, the 34th year of the begining of the of the UNIX and the time_t era.
time_t - an integer count of seconds elapsed since 1st January 1970 at 0:00:00.0 - has been the standard of measuring time for the C programmers (you must be a C programmer to understand what I mean :-).
The era which is going to end on 19th January 2038 3:14:07AM for the 32-bit signed time_t. Hope by that time another elegent solution would be found.
In this new year I wish:

May all the bugs be located,

may the logical errors never happen,

may M$ release everthing under GNU/ GPL,
Crazy Theories

Here are some theories that will make you think, atleast they made me think, that whatever we do for Artificial Inteligence but it cannot match human ingenuity.
read on...

Theory 1 (Bio-Mechanics):Why Yawning Is Contagious?
You yawn to equalize the pressure on your eardrums. This pressure change outside your head unbalances other people's ear pressures, so they then yawn to even it out.

Theory 2 (Symbolic Logic): Why is the Chinese are technologically underdeveloped?
The Chinese are technologically underdeveloped because each of their alphabetical characters represents a whole word or phrase, rather than a single letter. Thus they cannot use acronyms to communicate technical ideas at a faster rate.
